Take a minute to meet one of our designers, Jessie.
After high school she went to New Orleans School of Floral Design before moving back to Tallahassee and eventually opening her own shop, Jessie's at Carriage Gate.
She says it's hard for her to pick her favorite flower, but if she had to she would pick yellow roses because they are so pretty. She loves doing Wedding work the most, but also enjoys creating arrangements with a wildflower look. She likes when flowers "look the way God placed them in the garden!"
Stay tuned until next time when we introduce another member of our lovely team!
She has been working with flowers for over 50 years and was blessed with natural talent. She started making arrangements at the age of 16 using the flowers from her mother's garden. Neighbors and friends soon started asking her to make bouquets for them and so she started working at at a local florist here in Tallahassee after school. She would walk from Leon to work and says she remembers her first real design work was making boutonnières for all the ministers at First Baptist Church. They were featured on TV and she was so proud to see her work on the air!
