  1. Dear all,

I wish "A Country Rose" had a "testimonial section" on their website so I could praise the company there as well. But I will do it here.

Why do I use A country Rose? The answer is simple: I live in The Netherlands, Europe (where a lot of flowers sold in the US come from), and I happen to have a very close friend in Tallahassee. On several occasions I like to send her flowers as I believe they express my feelings the best. I have to trust them to deliver the right stuff at the right time because I can not do it myself.

I used to go with a large nation-wide company but their product quality was just not longer up to par and communication was a hassle because you have to go through customer service instead of having direct (e-mail) contact with the florist.

To cut a long story short: after trying A Country Rose once, I found that they deliver quality - on time - and are willing and able to help you out as a customer wherever and whenever needed.

As an example: the last time I ordered a bouquet (May 2008) , I made the mistake of choosing something out of the season. They contacted me by mail and helped me out as much as possible and still delivered on that day.

Because of my good experiences in the past, I just told them I trusted them fully to create something that would impress my friend as much as it did on previous occasion.

And sure enough: I got the same positive feedback from my friend as before: she loved the bouquet. Once again A Country Rose helped me look good.

And let's face it: isn't that the best compliment one can make them? They make me and you look good!

So there you have it in a nutshell.

It is no surprise to me they got voted "Tallahassee's Best Florist" in 2007.

So all I can say (all the way from Holland): congratulations and keep up the good work! You have my vote for 2008 as well!

So if you are looking for a good, reliable florist with a passion for their work, look no further because you have found it in A Country Rose!

Locally Grown; Our Flower Farm | Farm to Florist | Tallahassee, Florida

We haven't really shared much about our cut flower farm but it is time for that to change! We are honored to be able to provide our customers with many locally grown flowers! The  owner of  A  Country  Rose ,   Annette started farming on an acre at her home in Wakulla County about eight years ago. She has since moved herself and her farm to a new location with more space for growth (pun intended). Annette  and her husband Ed are the ones who make all the magic  happen.  The most current tasks around  the  farm as of the last  couple  of weeks is a reworking of all the beds. They've been pulling up all the irrigation, laying new rows which includes 100's of tractor loads of compost and mulch then re-laying of black ground cover (to keep weeds at bay), white ground cover (to keep the black from burning the flowers) and then replacement of the irrigation.  It's a lot of work but the  results will be amazing and below is a sneak peek of what we are  harvesting  right now.
